Wake UP
Five Minutes of Reflection
Wake Up consists of three circular sculptures of brass, wood, and stone, each mounted on an iron base. Three poems accompany the pieces. Between each sculpture is a swivel stool.
Spectators of this exhibition can witness the entire experience from the sidelines or fully engage by taking a seat within the sculpture.
1 + 1 = 1
all that exists on this earth
streaming
flowing
stationary
resting
drifting
ultimately inseparable
1 + 1 is 1 is 2 meters 10 high by 1 meter 54 wide. It is an iron hoop containing two images, one formed from a piece of wood found in 1960 by a Dutch engineer during construction of the Aswan Dam, the other carved from a piece of brown alabaster. Both images are anchored with bronze to the iron hoop; disparate images joined in the circle as an energetic unity.

there was water here, once
where the desert dust blooms with abandon
humanity waned, thoughtless
as the ravenous flames devoured the earth

The Flood of Mankind
the earth under water
silent night wind
the moon shines
through cloud cover
drowned life's response
to the ignorance of mankind
